Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 15, 2026

RepairIQ ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how RepairIQ handles information when you use our iOS application. We have designed RepairIQ with minimal data collection as a core principle.

1. Information We Collect

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Your name, email address, or any contact information
  • Account credentials or login information (no accounts required)
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, serial numbers)
  • Location data
  • Your contacts, photo library, or unrelated files from your device
  • Health or sensitive personal information

What Is Stored Locally on Your Device

  • Your free diagnosis usage count (stored via UserDefaults on your device only)
  • Your diagnosis history for in-app reference (stored locally, never transmitted)
  • App preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Diagnosis Query Processing

When you submit a diagnosis query, the text of your query — and, if you choose to attach one, the photo you provide — is transmitted to a third-party large-language-model service (api.aimlapi.com) for that single request to generate results. Photos are compressed on your device before upload and EXIF metadata is stripped. This transmission is not associated with any user identifier, account, or persistent device ID. Queries and any attached photos are processed transiently by the third-party service and are not stored in association with any individual. See the Terms of Service "Third-Party AI Service" section for details.

2. Third-Party Analytics — TelemetryDeck

RepairIQ uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous, aggregate product analytics. TelemetryDeck does not receive personal data, contact information, IP addresses, your diagnosis content, or any persistent device identifier — only event names (e.g. diagnosis.succeeded, paywall.viewed) and a hashed, app-scoped installation identifier that cannot be linked back to you. See telemetrydeck.com/privacy for their privacy policy.

We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Facebook SDK, advertising networks, or any cross-app or cross-website tracking.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

All subscription purchases and payment processing are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card information. Apple's privacy policy governs the payment transaction. We receive only a confirmation from Apple that a valid subscription is active on your device.

4. Children's Privacy

RepairIQ is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

5. Data Retention

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to retain or delete on our end. Data stored locally on your device (usage counts, diagnosis history) persists until you delete the app or clear app data via iOS settings, at which point it is permanently removed.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the app or App Store release notes. Continued use of RepairIQ after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
