Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RepairIQ mobile application ("App") operated by RepairIQ ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using RepairIQ, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.


1. Informational Purposes Only — Not Professional Advice

IMPORTANT: RepairIQ provides informational guidance only. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, or other qualified professional.

The diagnoses, cause rankings, cost estimates, and repair suggestions provided by RepairIQ are based on AI analysis of described symptoms and represent probable — not definitive — assessments. Actual conditions may differ significantly from what the App suggests.

You assume full responsibility for any decisions made based on information from RepairIQ. For any repair that could affect structural integrity, involve gas lines or main electrical panels, create risk of injury, or where safety is a concern, you must consult a qualified licensed professional before proceeding.


2. License and Permitted Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use RepairIQ for your personal, non-commercial household use.

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App for commercial purposes without written authorization
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription or usage limitations
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the App
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable law

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Annual Subscription$19.99 / year

Auto-renewing. Unlimited diagnoses and full feature access during the active period.

Monthly Subscription$3.99 / month

Auto-renewing. Unlimited diagnoses month-to-month with no annual commitment.

Single Diagnosis$1.99 one-time

Non-renewing consumable. Adds one diagnosis to your remaining count immediately. The purchased diagnosis does not expire and is restored on reinstall when signed in with the same Apple ID. No recurring charges.

Billing: Subscriptions and consumable purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Recurring subscriptions are billed on the cadence of the selected plan.
Auto-Renewal: Recurring subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Single-diagnosis consumable purchases do not auto-renew.
Cancellation: Cancel anytime via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iOS device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Access continues until that date.
Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their standard App Store refund policy. We do not independently offer refunds for subscription periods.
Price Changes: We may change subscription pricing. You will be notified before any price change takes effect and can cancel if you do not agree to the new price.

4. Accuracy Disclaimer

RepairIQ's AI-generated diagnoses are probabilistic assessments based on described symptoms. We make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any diagnosis or recommendation. Actual root causes may differ. Cost estimates are approximate ranges based on typical market rates and may vary significantly by region, the specific scope of work discovered on-site, and current material costs.


5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REPAIRIQ AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, LOSS OF DATA, OR FINANCIAL LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP OR RELIANCE ON ANY DIAGNOSIS OR RECOMMENDATION PROVIDED.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.


6. Third-Party AI Service

When you tap "Diagnose," RepairIQ sends your description (and any photo you attach) to a third-party large-language-model diagnostic service (api.aimlapi.com) for that single request. The service returns ranked possible causes, cost ranges, and a video search link.

Your input is not stored by RepairIQ beyond your on-device diagnosis history, is not linked to your identity, and is not shared with advertisers or data brokers. Photos are compressed and EXIF metadata is stripped on your device before upload. See the Privacy Policy for the full data-handling description.


7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of RepairIQ — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, software, and AI models — are owned by or licensed to RepairIQ and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.


8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to RepairIQ at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your license to use the App ceases immediately.


9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by applicable law.


10. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. When changes are made, we will update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after revised Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
